Can't make form others can fill in

I have set up the form in word, it works fine (i.e. you can complete all
the boxes, drop downs). I have gone through to take it out of design
mode and protect the form before sending. However, when I send to
someone it doesn't work. When you try to complete the form it takes
you into Visual Basics program editor and you cannot check boxes etc.

Help please...this is my first posting

If you have been using ActiveX controls to lay out the form, Word will open
the document in Design mode; this is a security setting. Instead of asking
people to reduce macro security, make sure to create the form with
"ordinary" form fields instead (see
http://word.mvps.org/faqs/customization/FillinTheBlanks.htm).
