It says " The system could not Log On. Make sure the user name and domain are
correct, then type your password again. Etc.."

I dont know y it wont let me log in even though I have not placed a user
name or password. I used to just click ok and then it would have took me into
the the welcome window. But now i am just it the log on screen. Somethings I
have tried was to remove th key board and then remove the battery, shut down
the comp for 10 minutes, restart the comp. Plz help.

Hi,

There may be two ways to get around this.

Firstly try entering Safe Mode as administrator (this may not have a pword).
This article by Symantec is the best there is on exaplaining safe mode:
http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...ent&ExpandSection=4&Src=sec_doc_nam#_Section4
If you get in but can not get rid of the username and password, try using
system restore which is located in the all programs section of the start menu
(then go to accessories and then system tools)

Secondly you may be able to try a system repair:

THE REPAIR CONSOLE

This method will reinstall Windows XP, and delete all drivers and windows
updates, BUT IT WILL NOT DELETE YOUR PROGRAMS OR FILES!

To use it you need to insert your Windows XP CD, and then restart your
computer. Then when the boot screen comes up, click ‘boot from cd’ and once
the XP cd has loaded, select the repair console.

Here are some websites that describe the process
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058/EN-US/ Please not this is very detailed
http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/XPrepairinstall.htm this is quite a good
step by step guide which I recommend printing off and looking at while doing
your first repair

Do not worry. Repairs are very easy, but afterwards you will need to
reinstall drivers, and run Windows Update.

Good Luck!

Well i did what u said but it didnt work. Now I cant even log on to windows.
I try to log on with my username and password and it says that "The system
could not log you on. Make sure your User name and domain are correct, then
type your password again. Letters in password must be typed using the correct
case".
