Can't install XP properly

I currently have win 2000 and Win Xp on my system. I
accidently created a dual boot because after I formatted
my C: I couldn't install XP. I thought it would install
from the bootable CD but it wouldn't detect the CD. So I
installed Win 2000 from my bootable floppies and then did
a complete install (not upgrade) of XP. But instead of
getting rid of 2000 and installing XP it just installed
over 2000. How can I get rid of 2000 and leave XP on my
pc. Also I opted for NTFS partition while installing XP
but I still have Fat 32. Any info on this would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Tim.

At this point you should be able to boot to xp cd,then select install "new copy
of xp,or select repair, then type:DiskPart Then delete the xp partition, then type
EXIT type:EXIT again,reboot to cd,reinstall xp.

Thanks for the reply. However, after I formatted my C:,
why couldn't I install XP from scratch using the CD rom?
