I just finished putting together all my hardware for my
computer, turned it on and started to load Windows XP Home
Edition, full non-uprade, and it came up with the error
messege:
"Setup did not find any hard disk drives installed in your
computer.
Make sure any hard disk drives are powered on and properly
connected to your computer, and that any disk-related
hardware configuration is correct. This may involve
running a manufacturer-supplied diagnostic or setup
program.
Setup cannot continue. To quit Setup, press F3."
I checked my jumper settings on my hdd and my cd-rom and
both are set correctly. I also checked to make sure that
the hdd was connected to the primary and the cd-rom is
connected to secondary. I also checked the bios and it
had detected my hdd and both my hdd and cd-rom were set to
the right slave/master and primary/secondary
configuration. I also took out the hard drive and tried
it in another system and it worked fine.
My hardware specs are as follows:
P4 3.0Ghz socket 478 with Hyperthreading Technology
Abit IS7 motherboard
2x512MB DDR 400 PC3200 Dual Channel SDRAM by Giel
120GB 7200rpm 8MB Catche Western Digital HDD
Samsung 52x 24x 52x CD-RW drive
I would appreciate any ideas on how I can get it to find
my hdd so Windows can be installed on my compter.
