Cant install SP2...

Setup stops telling me that atapi.sys is in use! There are no apps
running... the process locking the file is the System process....

An1 can help?

LOL, good idea :p

U could also start windows in safe mode as it should be done with these SP's
then the problem is fixed.
Just restart after install and voila the SP is installed
Windows maybe needs the atapi for something else u know :p

Service Packs do not require and should not be installed in Safe Mode.
The should be applied to a normal running system

I had this problem, but I found I could actually rename the atapi.sys file
and after that everything went fine...

I had first tried stopping all processes I could, but that didn't work.
