Can't install share portal client

We have share portal server 2001, we have a mixture of 2000 Pro and XP Pro
workstations. When we attempt to install share portal client on the XP
machines we receive an error that Outlook Express must be install before the
client can be install. Outlook Express is already installed. These machines
have Office 2003 Pro as well. Can anybody help??? I've tried everything,
posted numerous places and searched everywhere without success.
 
Try posting this in a SharePoint Portal Server news group. You will
probably get a faster answer from the experts who hang out over there.
