Can't install MSN Messenger 6.0

I have downloaded MSN Messenger 6.0 but it will not
installed. I also can't remove MSN Messenger 5.0. I keep
getting a message "MSN Messenger setup has failed with
error code 1601 please go to MSN Messenger Web site and
download from there" this does not work Can anyone help

This usually happens if your Windows Installer is not working properly.

To correct, do the following --click Start, then Run, and type the following:
%systemroot%\system32\dllcache\msiexec.exe /regserver
then click OK.

After this, run the install again.
