can't install ms03-026 patch to xp...

hi folks,

i am working for someone who uses windows xp on an e-
machines computer. i downloaded the ms03-026 patch from
microsoft to fix the rpc glitch that lets viruses take
control of the computer.

when i tried to install the patch, i received an error
message that said "can't verify integrity of update.inf.
run cryptography program.".

i searched for update.inf on the computer and cannot find
it. do i need another update from microsoft or a service
pack from them?

please advise.

Do not fool yourself this patch does NOT stop

viruses "from taking over your computer" it only closes
the door that the blaster worm used and you can do that
yourself by enableing the firewall and disableing
messenger service, DO NOT get a false sence of security!!
