version of Windows. For more information, view the information at the
Microsoft web site."

I have windows xp pro with service pack 2. Its a legal copy i got with the
machine when i purchased it from Gateway. i jsut upgraded it to sp2. I have
deleted media player 9 and now cant intall the 10. any ideas?
Thanks

I just found the answeer whilst browsing around... here is a post i copied
from a link on someone who posted an answer here ... hope it helps someone...
it worked for me.

"Windows Media Technologies Is Incompatible..." Information.
It's getting narrowed down! Currently it appears that wmploc.dll in
C:\Windows\System32 is the file causing hell for some users while trying to
WMP 10. The solution might be rather simple, navigate to
C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 and copy wmploc.dll to C:\Windows\System32.
Now, run the WMP 10 installer again and see what you get.

It worked for me too. I copied it s Victor said and then moved the orginal
copy out of system32 to another folder and then installed successfully - my
problem was microsoft saying media 10 was incompatable with my XP evwen
though I was completely up to date with critical updates.
