Can't install kids games

Please bare with me, I'm very new to Windows. I have installed programs that
came with my scanner, camera, and printer and everything went well. Now when
I try to install some learning programs for my kids it won't work. The
installer will start then I get the hour glass for a few seconds then it just
quits. This happens on 2 different jumpstart learning programs as well as
Kids Pix and Dr. Seus ABC and others. They say they will run on XP which is
what I have. XP Home. Any ideas? I just installed SP2, but no difference.

Did you disable your online Anti Virus scanner before attempting the
install? What Anti Virus are you using?

I have Norton Antivirus turned off. The same thing still happens. Thanks
for the idea though.

I ran the MSCONFIG and turned off some unused items and then everything
installed just fine. Thanks

Glad you got it sorted out. Now you know that programs running in the
background are not good to have running when doing an install.
