XP SP1

Trying by adding windows components, the install generates no problem, a
program item is created in the menu, but empty, also, no fax printer created.
And if i look at installed compnonets, the fax service is unmarked. Tried
several times, no anti virus active during install, no firewall. Wahts the
problem?

I did not recieve a windows xp disk when I purchase my computer. When I go to
the control panel and click on add windows components and click put a check
mark beside the fax it ask for a disk. Is there any way to download this

Contact the manufacture and get the CD.

I was able to install the fax service. Below are the steps:

1) Rename the registry keys and files below to *.old (I deleted them)

2) Make sure Telephony and Printer Spooler services are running. and are set
to start automatically
3) Access Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck 'Fax
Services' to uninstall it. (if fax services is checked)
4) Once it is uninstalled, access Add/Remove Programs to reinstall it.

If this does not work, look in the faxsetup.log file for any setup errors.
