Hi, i have this new laptop with Vista Home on it. I had installed my acrobat
standard 6.0 on it from cd. I decided i should upgrade to 8.0, so purchased
and d/l from the adobe site. The file comes in zipped. When i try ton unzip
and install, i get the message: "a problem occurred while creating the
destination folder. please check the folder permissions or choose another
folder".. So, i tried to extract into my "Documents" folder rather than to
the desktop and got "check available space and the write priveleges on the
destination folder".

I have tried to enable and then disable the UAC but did not seem to make a
difference.

I don;t know if this is an installer problem, a folder permissions problem,
or an acrobat 8.0 problem, or just a " dumb operator" problem..but would
would appreciate some help.

Thanks

Dan

You know what? I found a solution on this site, which involved right clicking
and selecting "open folder as administrator"... simple solutions for simple
minds!

Hi,

First uninstall the current version. Then download the .zip file and extract
the contents to a location of your choice. Go into the contents, right click
the setup file and choose 'run as administrator'. See if this helps.
