Can't import 16-bit TIFFs into Powerpoint

I can't get Powerpoint to recognize 16-bit TIFF files. If I open the same
image in Photoshop and save as an 8-bit TIFF, it imports into Powerpoint
just fine. Any advice??

I'm sure a lot more apps than PPT won't know what to do with 16 bit per color
images either. You'll have to do the save to 8-bit drill for PPT.
