Can't get SP1

I know that there are some issues with drivers that prevent some computers
from the ability to get SP1. Is there a list somewhere detailing what
hardware drivers have these issues? I have a laptop and a desktop and
neither one is able to get SP1. Rather irritating.
thanks in advance.

Oh, thank you very much! Well that explains it! On my desktop I have a
Creative audigy sound card as well as a fingerprint reader although it's a
Microsoft brand and not one of problem listed ones. My laptop has a
sigmatel so that explains that as well. So does anyone know what will
become of these driver issues?

Thank you majmac, yes I have and I have all the latest drivers except I
could not find anything regarding the Sigmatel.
NO LUCK!

The problem is that the Sigma Tel have been taken over by a company named
IDT who do not wish to develop or support the audio drivers. Microsoft have
said that they will release a patch to enable SP1 to work with the
problematic (and ubiquitous) Sigma Tel drivers although I don't know when.

Is either of your machines a Dell? I have a Dell Precision laptop with
Sigma Tel audio and the driver I have for it *is* compatible with SP1. I
can send it to you if you like but I only have the 64-bit version which may
not be suitable for your set up.

Yes, I have a Dell XPS Gen 2 laptop.
Unfortunately, I am using 32bit Vista but thanks for the offer!
