can't get my video capture to work?

i can't get mey video capture to work. the windows system says it's working ok but each of the three video capture prog's ive got says they can't find the capture device. i'm using a vivo cable via a gainward graphics card as the video capture method. i have had this method working before but can't get it work again after upgrading my mother board
