All of the sudden I am unable to get on to the internet - Internet Explorer
will not allow me to access the internet - however OE works fine - can
someone help?

thanks
Pam

I'm having a similar problem. I'm unable to get Limited
User Accounts to access the server via IE 6. They work
ok if I give them Administrator privileges.

Anyone have a solution?

Pam,

Please tell us what Internet Explorer says when not allowing you to
get on to the internet. Does it do this for all websites? If not
all, please provide some examples.

Cheers,

Chuck

I have the same problem. Everything worked fine until one day the IE quite working in my limited accounts. I loaded Netscape and it works fine in all accounts. This must be a security issue but I haven't been able to find any solution or clue as to what I should be checking

I would appreciate it if you would share any solution that you find and I will do the same

Thanks

Dennis

I tried your instructions but they didn't work as the file wasn't found. Need more detailed instructions if this will fix my Limited Account IE Not Working problem.

I'm having the same problem. I have multiple users and only one of them can not get into Internet Explorer. I've tried changing the settings and restoring it to an earlier date. It still does not work. Since I do not have the XP CD, would re-downloading IE6 through MSN Explorer help? And would I have to download it in her account to get it to work? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi Dennis,

Did you ever get an answer to your problem as listed below?
I have a brand new machine with Windows XP and I am experiencing similar (but not identical) problems.
The connection to the internet was lightning fast day 1 but once I added additional users the connection slows dramatically.
The difference for me is that I can access the internet from all accounts but they slow down dramatically.
As I switched between users, I noticed that there's an application (for the original user) still running called "Compaq Connection Agent", also the PC performance is pegged at 100% (both of these are found under Task Manager using Cntl-Alt-Del. I called Compaq and since the machine is only 3 days old, they told me to re-format and re-load the system from the recovery disk.

I plan on doing that but I was wondering if there may be a bug in Windows XP for multiple users.
My intent next time is not to use multiple users unless someone can reassure me otherwise.

Thanks

John B
