I installed xp pro onto a HD which is too small to use it with. How do I get
xp off of that HD so that I can install windows 98? It won't format for me,
and there is no way to use dos with it to do the job. Help!

Hi,

The drive is most likely a NTFS partition. Win98 fdisk can not see NTFS
partitions.

If you still have your XP CD handy, you can boot from it and start an XP
installation. During setup you will be
prompted for the partition to install to. You can delete existing
partitions on that screen. Use it to delete the NTFS partition(s).
Once finished, cancel setup.

Use the FDISK function on a Win 98 boot diskette to remove the non-DOS
partition (NTFS), then repartition and format, again using the Win 98 boot
diskette.. to use FDISK..

Hi guys, unfortunately, my partition is fat 32 right now, so I'm not sure why
xp is even working right now. I'm just afraid that I don't have enough memory

Just format the drive from the boot diskette.. boot from it, then at the
prompt, type

format c:

Note the space between the command and the drive letter, and the colon
following the drive letter..

FAT32 is ok for Win 98..
