You don't want POP3 for microsoft.com. Only Microsoft employees have that.
I assume you want to set up Windows Mail so you can send and receive
email through it. Do you have an existing email address? If so, what is the part
after the @ symbol?

If you have no existing email address, you have several options.
A. Get an email address from the company that provides your Internet connection.
B. Get a free email address from a third party such as Hotmail, Yahoo, or Gmail.

Yahoo accounts will only work through webmail, unless you pay them $20 per year
for the option to get POP access.
Hotmail doesn't work with Windows Mail, but does work with Windows Live Mail,
a free upgrade: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Let us know which way you want to go, then we can help you further.
