Basically, just recently wiped hard rive and re-installed XP. When I try and
add a network place, I can't find the computer I want to connect to. It also
says '****** can't be found' when I type \\server\location (obviousy filling
in the fields accordingly).

Anyone know why?

Both computers are set for sharing

(Infact, thinking about it, it is only my computer that it find on the
network)

Make sure file sharing is enabled on xp firewall exceptions. Also make sure
everything you are sharing is on the same subnet.

Tom,

If you just rebuilt your computer, and now it only finds itself on the network,
you might want to check it out from the bottom layer upwards.

Make sure that it is physically connected first, including details like drivers.

Next, the logical connection - make sure that its IP configuration is good.

Then look at the Windows Networking setup, with "browstat status", "net config
server", and "net config workstation". Read this article, and linked articles,
and follow instructions precisely (download browstat!):
