Please provide more details like:

-- Type of PC (Laptop or tower/desktop)
-- Kind of network adapter with model # (PCI, PCMCIA, CardBus, PCIe,
PCI-X or USB)

Is it detected in device manager? If not try a different PCI slot. If so
from device manager install the driver.

Thanks for the replies.

Computer is a tower running XP Home.
Card is a "PCI network card, suports wake up on LAN (not sure what that
does) and the box says Connects a PC to a 10/100 network. I want to use this
card to connect directly to a card in my second PC using a crossover cable
(should I ever reach that point).
Following your advice I checked the device manager and it was there, so I
updated the driver as instructed on the floppy disk included in the package.
I now have a network icon in the system tray showing "limited or no
connectivity". I guess I may now have a network setup issue to work on?

Many thanks

Ian
