Jason

How do I delete files from media player? If I delete they just come back
when I go to all music.

Thanks,
J.

Perhaps the MP Newsgroup -

Windows Media Player NG

So I can't use OE to get to it?

Did you even look - in OE it's easy to find Newsgroups -

microsoft.public.multimedia.windows.mediaplayer

For example: In the Newsgroup Subscriptions dialog box, typing mediaplayer
displays all groups with mediaplayer in the name.

Hi Jason, I would like to help you with your Media Player questions. I
work with the Windows Outreach Team, and have a couple of suggestions.
First you should know that WMP automatically searches your PC and syncs
any Audio files it finds. It doesn’t contain any files themselves only
shortcuts to those files. So you cannot actually delete them. But if
there are files you don’t want synced you can tell WMP not to monitor
those files or folders and it will exclude them. Read the following
steps and it will help you manage your files better. Click the arrow
below the Library tab, and then click Add to Library:
Click Advanced Options, and then do any of the following
• To monitor additional folders, click Add, and then specify the
location of the folder.
• To stop monitoring a folder that you previously added, click the
folder that you want to remove from the list, and then click Remove. To
stop monitoring a folder that has been automatically added, click the
folder, and then click Ignore.
• To specify whether the Player should add files previously deleted
from the library, select or clear the Add files previously deleted from
library check box.
• To prevent files that are smaller than a certain size from being
added to the library, enter the file size limits in the Audio files and
Video files boxes
I hope that helps, Rick

I've already been through some of what you have psoted. It has removed the
reference to the files from within WMP. Now the "All Music" with the play
symbol does not list anything. No great loss - the one with the music symbol
works.
