Here is deal, I needed to re-install MSWIN2K Pro on my
home CPU. Before I did, I backed up various personal
files...MP3's word docs, and Outlook pst's. After
reinstalling the OS, same file structure, (fat), I pop in
the CD (that was formated for CD-rom use) and nothing is
there. Now I know the file ARE there (I chk'd on a win98
cpu) but I cant access them with the new os install. I
even put the 98 hard drive as a slave, copied the files
over to the 2K HD, but WIN2k say's I dont have permission
to access the files now.

Help. Thanks.

And this volume is formatted FAT? Did you make sure you removed the
read-only file attributes?

Yeah, I just took the "read attrb" off the outlook pst
file and started fired up outlook, use that pst, and there
is nothing in it...at all, even though the file is 6meg.
