I currenty have XP-Pro installed and I want to fdisk and
install 98. I tryed DOS disks and also booting to 98 and
XP CD's and still will not let me fdisk. can someone
please help.... Curt

You need to boot with a Win98 Startup disk and at the A: prompt enter FDISK

Then, in FDISK, you need to delete the Non-DOS partition. Then re-create
the partition. You can also boot from the XP CD and run Setup. As part of
setup you'll be offered the chance to delete/create/format partitions.

Curt,

FDisk won't delete the NTFS partition on logical drive but it lets you
delete the primary (non-dos aka ntfs partition)

To delete the NTFS partitions, use Delpart or Aefdisk:

Delpart:

**********

or

http://www.ntfaq.com/download/delpart.exe

or

http://hercules.lss.ksu.edu/download/MSSTUFF/

For details:

AEFDISK:

***********

Another option to delete ALL partitions in a second is to use aefdisk with
the command:

aefdisk /delall
