Cant export messages from Outlook Express

I've decided to re-build my PC from scratch and need to export
messages from Outlook Express 6 but when I try I get the following
message..

The export could not be performed
An error occured while initializing MAPI

Can anyone help please?

Hi Pete,

The Export function only works if you are exporting the messages to Outlook
or Exchange. It sounds like what you are looking for is a way to backup your
messages (and, perhaps, other email settings) and then restore them after
you've done your rebuild. If so, check out Backup and Restore,
Do-It-Yourself Backups:
