Hi,
First, thank you to Cheryl Fischer for telling me how to open Access.
Below is copy of my original post, and her reply. Here is my an addition to
my post of yesterday: Thank you for any aid.
Thank you. I was open to successfully open Access. But I have been unable to
export file.
First, I got little window asking if I wanted to convert database or open
it. I clicked convert.
It opened (after several minutes) In a different form than it had been in
before. I mean before, it had been in the form of a form, but now it was
like a spreadsheet. Only a tiny amout of the data was there, and some of it
was garbled.
fter tinkering, I got it to open in the form of a form, like it was before.
I exported it, but, again, only a small amount of the data got to the Xls
file. When I opened it in Excel, it distotred the height and width of the
cells, and scrunched almost all the data into the left most cell. It also
arbitrarily added column headings.
Next, I tried to open original file and click on Open instead of convert.
Then it said somethhing to the efect, "you must choose convert from tools
menu ..." But convert is grayed out.,
Why do they have to make things so hard?? All I want is to make the file
into a Xls file, or even a text file. It seems like that would be a common
task. Why can't they make it so you can just do it??
Can anybody help?? Does anybody even understand this rambling note??
