Can't establish Audio and filetransfer

Greetings
I'm using XP home and MSN messenger 6.2
A friend of mine is connected threw a proxy server and I
we can only use reguler chatting without Audio, and file
transfer.
Is it because of the proxy or another reason?

It's because of the proxy -- Messenger can't use the direct connection features through a
proxy unfortunately.
