Hello
Try dragging it to your trash can.
Look in Add & Remove Programs for AOL related programs.

Hello Again
OK lets try this then
1.. Go to Start/Control Panel and double-click the Display icon.

2.. Click on the Desktop tab and hit the Customize Desktop button

3.. Under Desktop Cleanup, click on Clean Desktop now.

4.. The Desktop Cleanup Wizard pops up. It'll display a list of desktop
icons you haven't used in awhile. Follow the instructions to delete the
desired icons.

I had similar problems with Cox branding my internet
explorer browser and an aol icon that I couldnt delete.
I looked on the aol support page and it was actually
something to do with the registry. So what I did is went
into regedit and deleted all the files with a search for
cox and aol. Now everything is fine? Hope it helps ?!

Hi,

Go to Start/Run/Regedit, navigate to this key and delete the icon entry:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\NameSpace

Check points to ensure that remnants have been removed:

Troubleshooting, Removing and/or Cleaning Add or Remove Programs
