I am using XL/Win2000. Ordinarily when I open a file that has a macro, XL
asks me if I want to enable or disable the macro. But now it is no longer
asking me, so that I cannot use the macro in the file. Is there a default
setting in XL somewhere that can tell XL to permanently disable macros?

Thanks,
Jay

Seferiad,

Check Tools -> Macro -> Security. If this is set to high excel will
always disallow macros. If it's set to medium you will get prompted
to allow/disallow macros. If it's set to low it will always allow.
