Can't drag and drop highlighted text in Word 2003 SP3

This problem suddenly appeared and nothing seems to eliminate it. I've
tried changing the name of the word.template and that didn't help. Any
suggestions?
 
Somewhere in your Word Options, you'll find a check-box called
something like "Allow Drad & Drop." It may have gotten unchecked
somehow.
