hi, for a particular spreadsheet i am working on, the autofilter butto
is greyed out.

i think its the setup of my data. what should i check to make sure tha
autofilter can work?

thanks :cool

Do you have more than one worksheet selected? The title bar would
display [Group] at the end of the workbook name.

If so, you can ungroup the sheets by right-clicking on one, and choosing
'Ungroup sheets'

Or, is the sheet with the list is protected?

Could be the sheet is protected or you have two or more sheets
grouped(selected)

i also checekd that there are no gaps in the top title row.

thanks debra, it was set on Hide Objects. i put it to show all and no
works :)

whats does hide objects do?

thank

It hides objects. <g>

For example, if you had lots of shapes or charts on the worksheet, you
could hide them temporarily, and printing and scrolling might be faster.
