cant do any searches in IE 6

i cant get any search engines to work in IE 6..i get a
cant display.. or cant find server.. i have refreshed..
and still nothing.. it is with any search..google.. ask
jeeves.. yahoo.. altavista.. lycos.. i cant do any of
them.. any ideas how to fix???? pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

Yon must keep your computer up to date with critical windows updates from
MS. You must also have anti virus software running at all times and keep
that up to date also.
