Can't delete websites

I have 6 websites in favorites that I didn't put there and won't go away when I try and delete them. The temporary files in cookies won't empty when I try and delete them. I have an unwanted home page default that won't delete after trying to set up a new one with internet options. Thanks for any help.
 
I had a similar problem not long ago. My problem was a virus, check it out and see how you go

It is conceivable that software has been installed on your PC without your
knowledge. If possible, install and run one or both of these utilities,
which will detect that software, and give you the option to vanquish it...

Sorry for being a little late, but that problem, is usually associated with a virus; a Trojan virus to be exact. Just run a virus scan with your virus program and the problem should be fixed. Or, probably Spyware has been downloaded onto your computer without your knowledge. To remove this, you must have a special program to sweep your computer for these Spyware. I hope it works! Ive been having the same problem with the internet sites putting themselves onto my favourites list. Ive managed however to delete cookies by using spybot. This also helped with the homepage hijacker so you could try this.
