Can't delete or rename folder in XP

Hello

I've a Win XP SP 2 all patches put, which has a strabge problem:

It is impossible to rename or delete folders with Explorer. There is no
error message at all.
Nevertheless, iti is still possible with the Shell.

I tried Scandisk and browsed the knowledge base but didn't find anything.

Any ideas?

That also happened to me. I clicked on the folder and dragged it to the
root directory of C:\. I could then delete or rename it. Why I will never
know.
