Can't Delete LPTENUM From Registry

I have the same problem as the post from "Steve" on May 2,
2004 9:54AM. Found New Printer on every restart. MS
Knowledge Base Article 298370 says to delete LPTENUM from
the registry. When I try to do that I get this
message: "Cannot delete LPTENUM: Error while deleting key"
Now what?

delete in safe mode?
