Hi All,

When you add an IMAP connection in Outlook, you get another root level
folder that you can use to browse messages on your IMAP server. Works
great, all is well and good.

However, when I tried to delete one of my IMAP accounts, the folder did not
go away. When I click on the plus to to expand the folder, I get an error
that says "unable to expand folder." If I right click and choose "close", I
get an error that says "The operation failed. An object could not be
found."

I tried readding that mailserver, and now I have two, one that works, and
one that doesn't. I am afraid to try deleting again because I could wind up
with two bogus folders now.

What do I do?

I am using Outlook 2002 (10.2627.311). It is what came with my Toshiba e740
PocketPC.

Thanks for any help!

If I were in your shoes, I'd create a new mail profile, unless you're using
Outlook 2000 in IMO. (Then you can't.) Is the PST created for the
non-working IMAP account actually gone?

Remove the email account and search the registry for the pst name or
location - it'll be in windows messaging subsystem
(HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows
Messaging Subsystem\Profiles if using windowsxp or 2000)

Each pst will normally have two keys associated with it - your ghost should
only have one. Delete the left behind key.
