At some time during the multiple attempts to install Win
XP Pro on to a PC running Win XP Home the installation
script, or something, created a folder on the external
hard drive where I keep my backups. The folder has a
nonsense name (d36dd2d5b179b818d7e9ad4c65318b82) and
subfolders with the names 'asms', 'ic', 'lang', 'new',
and 'update', plus several hundred files. I've been able
to delete the files in the main folder but Windows won't
let me access or delete the subfolders, much less delete
the main folder. When I try to delete a folder I get the
message "Cannot delete <folder name>: Access is denied."
When I try to look at the files in a folder I get a
similar message saying that access is denied. Any ideas
on how I can get rid of these folders and the files in
them?
