Hello,

I am getting the following message whenever I try to delete an email message
that is prior to June 2004:

"The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem
persists, restart Outlook."

I am running Win XP Pro with SP2, and Office XP Pro. Both are updated with
all available updates. After looking around on the MS site and forums I was
pointed towards an update at first but that did not pan out. After that I
was told to check the archive settings. I did that but there is no archiving
being done, so it couldn't be that. Does anyone else have any ideas? Thanks
for any help you can provide.

Finally found a solution to my dilema. I have not seen this workaround
posted anywhere so I will post here for anyone else that has this problem.

I ended up exporting the "corrupt" mailbox to a new PST file, saved to the
local drive, and then changed the Outlook settings to use this new data file.
That seemed to do the trick. The only explaination I have is that the
original PST file had to be corrupt in some way even though the scanpst check
came out clean. Hope this helps others in the same boat.
