Can't delete e-mail

I can't delete my e-mail using the toolbar as I normally
do. The only way I have found to delete it is by "shift
Delete" which is some what of a pain.There is an error
symbol at the bottom line on the screen.Any clue what's
up?
 
Gerry - There is a big red "X" on the toolbar used for
deleting an open email.

method of deleting I am not familiar with ( the reference
to toolbar ). However if we are discussing Outlook
Express Shift+Delete bypasses the Deleted Items folder. A
common cause of not being able to delete is a corrupted
Deleted Items folder. The solution is to close Outlook
Express and then delete the deleted items.dbx files
whilst in Windows Explorer.

So there is! I guess I need a new pair of glasses <g>. Using it does place the message in the Deleted Items folder so my solution would almost certain be correct!
