Hi,
I'm using Outlook 2000 SR1 and an e-mail from myself has come into my
inbox, even though i didn't send it. Any time i've tried to access or delete
this mail outlook has seized up and i've had to reboot it.

The only way to overcome it was to have someone else send me a e-mail.

Do you know how i can be rid of this demon? I want it binned! ;-)

All help appreciated
thanks
andy

Andy,

This sounds odd - I would make sure your system is update with all the
latest patches both for Windows and Office. Plus run scans to check for any
possible spyware or viruses on your system. Once that is done then run the
Detect and Repair on your Outlook. Help Detect and Repair.

The first thing I'd try is to use Shift-Delete, which permanently deletes an
item, not moving ti to the Deleted Items folder.

If that didn't work, I'd create a new PST, make it the delivery location,
and move everything but the miscreant message to it. I'd then close the
infected PST in Outlook, close Outlook, and delete the PST with it's
ill-behaved baggage from disk

Brian you're a peach!!
I think it was something to do with the preview pane being opened as well, I
got rid of it with shift-delete and didn't have to mess about with the pST.

cheers, all the best to ya
