Hello. My problem is that I somehow ended up with an
extra personal folder and I simply can't delete it. I've
tried moving the .PST file and creating a different one.
No luck. I've even uninstalled outlook 2000 three times
to no avail. After I uninstalled it I looked in "My
Documents and Settings" where Outlook and other
applications leave data behind and I deleted everything
that I found but that didn't work either. I reinstalled
Outlook 2000 and there was my Personal Folder again! When
I click on the properties and I try to close it it
says "Object not found....". Anyone have any
suggestions? Thanks?

It could be a bogus Registry entry. Use Google to search this newsgroup for
"ghost folders".

Brian.Tillman is the name, smiths-aerospace.com is the domain.

I don't speak for Smiths, and Smiths doesn't speak for me.

I'll try searching on Ghost Folders thanks.

I'm having the same problem with Outlook 2003. I've
tried going through the File Manage DataFiles, and the
Mail Control Panel to no avail. I still have ghosted
Personal Folders. Have you or does anyone know of a
solution.

Thank you,

Steve...

Easiest way to deal with it is to create a new mail profile from scratch (in
other words, don't just copy the existing one) and attach your known good
..PST to it. You can create a new profile in Control Panel | Mail | Show
Profiles.
