I have a video clip file in the My Music folder which I cannot seem to get
rid of.
Every time I try to delete the file I get the following error message;

'Cannot delete lararinnan-0[1] : It is being used by another person or
program.
Close any programs that may be using the file and try again.'

I have checked that all possible programs that could use the file are closed
and nothing seems to be running that is associated with this file in any
way. Can anyone recommend how I could delet the file please.

Thanks
Matt

Turn on show file extensions in your folder settings and rename it from
file.avi to file.txt then delete it.

Regards,
Paul.

Thanks for the advice Paul, have tried this but unfortunately no success. I
get the exact same error message that the file is in use by another person
or program.

Any other thoughts much appreciated.

Cheers

Matt

My guess: Explorer is open in that directory and it has a handle open to the
file. Maybe this has something to do with thumbnail views.

Have you tried starting cmd.exe and deleting the file with "del"?
