When I go to defrag my drive it won't even anaylze it as it says it has
chkdsk scheduled for the next reboot. I tried rebooting, but chkdsk didn't
run. I went to run chkdsk on my drive again and scheduled it to run on the
next reboot, rebooted, but still it didn't run chkdsk.

Is there any way to get it to actually run chkdsk so that I can go ahead and
defrag my drive???

try looking in scheduled tasks and see if it's there. (system tools after
start)

If so, delete it and try again.

Try to start the computer is "Safe" mode and defrag from
safe mode. It will probably run.

Are you running third party firewall such as zone alarm?

If so I can provide the ZA answer - in ZA:

You can go into ZoneAlarm (ZA) 5, go to the overview tab then preferences

UNcheck the PROTECT ZA CLIENT

That is what is protecting your firewall from malware and locking the hard
drive from a scan

Do the chkdsk then follow same steps and reenable for max protection

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode and running defrag from there? That
eliminates many things that can interupt Defrag. Maintenance programs can
stop it from starting or make it restart from the beginning when any
background program changes the hard drive which is being defragged. I even
turn off the screen saver after I reboot to Safe Mode to run defrag.
