Can't Customize Outlook Today

Using Outlook 2000 I cannot 'customize outlook today'

when I click 'customize outlook today' nothing happens
 
OL2000: You Cannot Customize Outlook Today After You Install Critical Update

You can edit the registry to make changes to Outlook Today.

Hi - this solves most of the problem for me, though the paths for the
folders doesn't seem to work, whichever way I try to input them - pasted
from the address bar, edited to have the double slash, order anything
similar
My inbox link is just 'inbox', which works fine; the other folders I want
to have listed are nested, though.

help?
