cant copy and paste news articles from browser

it may be the coding behind.
can you 'select all' & then 'copy' & then 'paste' into
notepad & then 'select all' & then 'copy' & then 'paste'
into ms word?

locks up word. i have to do a paste special and change
the option to unformatted text i think it was. if i paste
the article ro an email then recopy it and then paste it
over to word it works fine.

happens if AOL is running in the back ground and doesnt
matter if i use aol browser or the desktop IE one.
 
ok if i copy and paste into notepad and then copy from notepad and then paste into MS WORD 2002 it works. what does it mean having to do it that way? why wont it go straight from the article over to WORD? it also works if i copy it into a email; and then recopy from there and paste into word. its just the straight transition it wont work and since it did a few weeks ago something must have changed in the program somewhere
