I have Outlook 2000 and recently upgraded from Win 2000 to XP SP2. I have
all the settings the same as before but when I send/receive the pop-up comes
up and it says that everything went fine. Problem is, nothing happened. No
messages were downloaded and no messages left the outbox.

If there were an error message I might know where to look to fix things, but
it says everything is fine.

I have also turned off XP's firewall and tried it that way, but same problem.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,

Bob

One more thing, looking closely it says "0 of 0 tasks performed successfully"

Under Tools/Accounts I do have the box checked that says "Use this account
when sending and recieving mail"

Why does Outlook not think there is a task to be done? I don't get it.

Thanks,

Bob

Ok, I fixed it.... here's the problem and it wasn't obvious so if others have
the same issue then maybe this would help.

One of the email accounts was not set as the Default. Once I made one the
default all worked just fine. Wow, shouldn't Outlook MAKE you have one as
the default?

I don't think so, since there is Tools>Send/Receive>{account name}>Inbox for
handling non-default accounts.

I tried that too. But, I could not get it to complete a send/receive through
that menu either, UNTIL I set one of the emails as default.

I know it doesn't make sense, but that's what happened.
