Can't connect to my POP server

Hello there:

I'm the owner of my own domain and hence my domain mail
server. Thus my e-mail address would be
(e-mail address removed). The domain is hosted by register.com.
I can go to my e-mail box through the web (i.e., by
logging on to mail.mydomain.net; hoewever, since this
morning I can't get on through Outlook anymore. A box
keeps on popping up asking for the correct e-mail address
and password. I've gone through all the settings in
Outlook and verified them. Certainly nothing had changed.

Register.com said that if I can get on through the web,
then the mail box is working correctly and it's an
Outlook problem.

Any ideas?

Do you use an antivirus program that scans POP/SMTP mail? If yes, try
uninstalling it and give your mail another whirl.
 
Hi Harry, I too have had a similar problem today. I cannot
send or receive mail. When I go to outlook, a box pops up
saying error, Outlook cannot connect with
pop.sbcglobal.yahoo.net my server (SBC DSL). After 1/2 hour
on the phone with SBC, they claim nothing is wrong with the
server, its my computer or outlook. Since I don't know
much, maybe someone could answer me online. I cleared all
files, it worked for 10 seconds then nothing--for the last
4 days. Roselle
 
Yes; I have McAfee. I quit out of that and re-entered all
my mail info. That seems to have done it.
