To who can help me out.

I use Windows messenger to connect with a friend in South
Africa using MSN messenger. Until recently we have had no
problems in talking but now we cannot connect the two pcs
to be able to use vocal chatting. it is fine if we want to
just type but as soon as we try to start a voice
conversation as soon as it connects the two pcs it
disconnects them automatically. At first I thought it
could be bandwidth but I tried using Net meeting and it
enables us to see each other through web cams but no sound
comes through messenger.

It started after windows xp was hit by the RPC virus and I
installed the patch so I was thinking it could be this but
I would appreciate it you could give me some ideas or any
information that I could use to rectify this problem.

Kind regards

Ivan Stalley

Ivan,
After removing the W32Balaster.worm, did you enable the MS XP
Firewall? If so this will be the cause of your problem.
