Dan

I have a home network consisting of an XP home box, a 98
box and an ME box. I can connect from the ME box to the
98 box and vice versa, from the XP box to the 9ME box and
vice versa, but cannot connect from the XP box to the 98
box. I can see the 98 box when I do a view workgroup
computers from the XP box, but and can ping it by name
and address, but when I actually try to connect I get the
message "\\98box not accessible. You might not have
permission to use this network resource" Since I can
connect from ME to 98, I am pretty sure the problem is
somewhere in the config on my XP box. Any ideas?
Thanks

Yes I did see this and will check out the site you
mentioned.

Dan,

thanks for replying. Please report back if any problems remain.

I was able to resolve this by deleting the TCP/IP stack
from the config on my Windows 98 pc and also by renaming
that pc. Thanks to those who responded.
