verify the path exists and is writeable.

I keep trying to set the read only bit on it but when i click Ok it goes
right back. I tired subfolder, even the mydocs folder too.. still read

Are you using a form of Soruce Control system like ClearCase maybe?
Clearcase had a background process to monitor it's protected files to
make sure they're protected and stay that way.

If the error went away when you restarted visual studio, it probably
had something to do with something else trying to access the location
you wanted to write your file too.
