says my computer is clean, but i Can't change the blue screen with the

Do a Google search using the name at the end of the message or any part of
the message that seems relevant.

That should find the name of the virus or trojan that has hijacked your
desktop.

Just cleaning the system will not get you your desktop back because your
registry has been altered and probably needs to be corrected manually.

Once you have the name of the infecting program go to Symantec and search
for the name and instructions on the method of removal.

I cured that problem on a friends PC in that way a few months ago, but can't
remember the name of the offending program.

Good luck.

Hi

I've just got the very same problem. The program that infected you
computer was probably Pest Trap or its predecessor SpySheriff. Here'
an article from Malware Help.Org

"Pest Trap is a corrupt anti-spyware program that uses fals
positives. It does not actually detect parasites, but target
harmless system and software objects as threats in attempt to tric
the user into purchasing the full version of Pest Trap. Th
application itself is a clone of the infamous SpySheriff rogue an
similar programs such as SpywareNo!, SpyDemolisher and Spyware-Stop
Pest Trap is an unsolicited program. It may harm your system an
violate your privacy!

So, basically, you've been trapped into buying a spyware itself. :-((
Uncool, huh

Visit this site for instruction on how to remove the crap thing
http://www.2-spyware.com/remove-pest-trap.html

I removed it via add/remove programs and then followed the manua
removal instruction. However, I STILL have the "SPYWAR
INFECTION" fake desktop warning and CAN'T get rid of it. When
try to change the desktop proprieties, some buttons are 'inactive
and I can't load any other desktop image. I also tried changing tha
by cliking on a photo and setting it as default desktop, but with n
results... I'm running Spyware Doctor at the moment, hoping that i
will help. If anybody can help with this, please do

Thanks

Go through the removal steps detailed here:

Afterwards, you may want to go through the other malware removal steps
at that site also:

Ok, it's once again me. I run the Spyware Doctor twice and it found
about 50 dangerous files in total. After removing them, my desktop
still stayed blocked though.
However, I did eventually manage to get my desktop back (after 3 hours
of fighting!), but not through Spyware Doctor (why hadn't it dected
the malicious file or registry entry?!). Follow these steps and
hopefully it'll help:
1 run: regedit
2 go to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
Normally, you should have there only one registry (or however you call
those). If you have anything else, I believe you can safely delete it.
I had a file/registry called something like "desktop.html"
(though I remember deleting something similar before... hmmm...).
Wasn't sure about deleting it, but gave it a try and it worked!!!!
And now, after 3 hours of fighting against malicious stuff I can
finally go to bed!!!
Good luck with your computer!
